Family Support

There is no rulebook for raising a family and sometimes it can seem overwhelming, particularly if your family is going through difficult times.

Many parents need help, friendship, advice or support during those early years when children are young.

If support is available when you need it, then day-to-day family life and your children’s future can be so much brighter.

We Can Help

Any professional working with your family, or indeed you, can refer to Home-Start East Lothian. Once we have received a referral, one of our co-ordinators will contact you and come to have a chat. They will explain about the scheme and how the matching works.

Once a very careful matching process has taken place, your volunteer will start to visit once a week for between 2-3 hours. The matching is then governed by yourself – you have chosen to have a volunteer so you can choose when it ends.

We also offer the chance for some information sessions for families along with some social events through the year.
